    Description

Grouping of US Army issue items appearing to date from 1917 to 1918, includes:
Metal tube of Anti-Dimming Composition for Gas Masks, greenish colored tube, tube is dented and bent so I cannot open it but it does feel like there is SOMETHING inside when shaken. Tube measures approx. 3" long by 1.25" diameter.
Metal kidney shaped cup with hinged bracket, measures approx. 4.25" high by 5.25" by 3.25" across open end. Rolled rim, has some black lettering, maybe grease pencil? Initials M B B engraved under the bracket and US LF & C 1918 on the bottom under the bracket. Has a little sliding piece that slides up the bracket and keeps the bracket popped open so you can hang it on something.
Cutlery knife fork and spoon show wear, dents, knife blade not very sharp and shows oxidation. Knife handle clearly says LF&C 1917, fork and spoon say US on the front of the handles and 19 something on the back, also looks like a WB  or WR above a bar with a W under the bar, unknown what that stands for. Cutlery measures approx. 7.5" long.
Mess kit is oval with a flat top, measures approx. 7" by 8.25" by 1.75" high, hinged handle measures approx. 9" from pan, I cannot find a date on this. I think it should be on the handle somewhere but I do not see anything. There should be a D ring on the top of the lid but it is missing. There is a lot of denting, lid does not fit in very well, some initials, lots of wear, really wish this item could talk.
