Description
A WELL USED US CAVALRY MODEL 1912 PICKET PIN AND SCABBARD.THE LEATHER SCABBARD IS DARK BROWN TO BLACK WITH LIGHTER AREA. THE STITCHING IS GOOD AND THERE IS NO SEPARATION. THE UPPER STRAP BILLET IS A REPLACEMENT WHICH SEEMS TO BE OF US MILITARY ORIGIN, PERHAPS JUST AS A PERIOD OF USE FIELD REPAIR. THE BACK RING IS PRESENT AND FIRMLY ATTACHED AND THE TOP STRAP IS INTACT AND SERVICEABLE. NOTE THAT I DID NOT PUSH THE PIN ALL THE WAY IN AS THE LEATHER HAS SCHRUNK SOME AND I DID NOT WANT TO RISK SPLITTING THE SCABBARD. I EXPECT THAT SOME APPLICATION OF YOUR FAVORITE LEATHER TREATMENT WILL FACILITATE PUSHING IT IN. THE PIN ITSELF SHOWS HAMMERING ON TOP AND THE TIP IS BLUNTED FROM FIELD USE. IT ALSO SHOWS SOME RUST PITTING.
ALTHOUGH ONLY IN FAIR CONDITION, IT IS OFFERED AT WHAT I THINK IS A FAIR PRICE.
IT WILL DISPLAY WELL DESPITE ITS SHORTCOMINGS AND SALTY LOOK AS OUTLINED ABOVE.

The United States Postal Service is our shipper of choice. We will combined shipping cost for multiple purchases. We are in the Antique Militaria business and do not make money from shipping. We merely try to cover some of our basic costs.
International buyers, please note that all purchases are fully and correctly disclosed on Custom forms for the invoice amount.
