For your consideration and bidding, a complete, Sports Illustrated Book of Baseball. This neat baseball publication was published by J.B. Lippincott Company, Philadelphia and New York, in 1960, The book carries a copyright of 1958 and sports "First Edition" on the copyright page. This book consists of 90 pages, 5 chapters, and contains numerous black/white illustrations, and measures approximately 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" x 1/2". The five chapters include 1. Sal Maglie on the Art of Pitching, 2. Roy Sievers on the Art of Hitting, 3. Del Crandall on the Art of Catching, 4. Gil McDougald of the Art of Infielding, and 5. Richie Ashburn on the Art of Outfielding and Base Running. The cover is in excellent condition, front and back, showing some wear commensurate with 60 plus years of handling and storage. There are three red marks on the bottom half of the front cover that appear to be not original (see auction photos). There is no dust cover. The spine is intact and solid. The corners show a slight amount of wear. Overall this 1960 Sports Illustrated Book of Baseball is in excellent vintage condition and would look great displayed in the man cave, or young baseball players bedroom.
