About Blue Carbon Steel:
This pan is made of blue carbon steel which is made using a hardening process that prevents rust and develops into a naturally nonstick surface, much like cast iron. For this reason, it also needs regular seasoning before the first use and after each subsequent use. As it seasons, the original blue color will gradually darken and turn black. Unlike cast iron, blue steel is lightweight for more convenient maneuvering and quicker to season into a smooth, nonstick finish. Though not dishwasher-safe, this nonstick pan is easy to clean and should be dried carefully to prevent reoxidation.
