The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 is a three engine, wide body airliner, developed from the original Douglas DC-10. The DC-10-10 model was a "domestic" design with a typical range of about 3800 miles. The MD-11 is a "stretched" version of the DC-10, bringing it to a length of 202 feet. It had updated engines, could accommodate up to 298 passengers, and had a range of 7,130 miles. It has a glass flight deck that eliminated the requirement for a flight engineer.
American Airlines is a major airline of he United States. It was founded on April 15, 1926. It began operations on June 25, 1936. It operates domestic and international scheduled flights to over 350 destinations in 50 countries on six continents. The airline had 19 MD-11's which were in service from 1991 to 2002. They were replaced with the Boeing 777-300ER.
This American Airlines MD-11 with registration number  N1758B, had it's first flight in June of 1992. It was delivered to American Airlines on July 08, 1992. It flew with American until May of 1994, when it was sold to US Africa Airways. It came back to American in February of 1995, and continued until January of 2001 when it was sold to Federal Express, where it is still active.
This beautiful 1:200 scale diecast reproduction of the American Airlines MD-11 is an extremely rare, highly detailed, out of production, and difficult to find model. It is a diecast fully assembled. The model is
