Kimono w/ Embroidery
For your consideration is this antique uchikake which dates back to the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) in Japan.  During this period, designers were able to create new patterns using new weaving technologies.  This particular Meiji uchikake is a bold green with embroidered floral and baskets outlined in couching.  The fabric is a silky satin with a red crepe silk lining.  There are five paulownia mons (family crests) on this uchikake - three across the back and two on the front.  There are a few small holes on the back, but it is in very good condition for its age.  (R1276/241)
