Description

This is a vintage original 1953 foldout brochure issued by American Airlines to announce the unveiling of the new Turbo-Compound DC-7 jet aircraft to the airline’s fleet.   This brochure is a single piece that folds open into a large poster format measuring about 24” x 18”  The front cover panel is titled:
American Airlines continues to lead with the great new Turbo-Compound DC-7
The poster side shows a profile views the much larger DC-7 compared to the smaller DC-6 variants.   The other side has the cover panels and additional information on the new DC-7 aircraft and touts “non-stop coast-to-coast under 8 hours by the fastest flagship ever”.  Also featured is a cutaway top down view of the DC-7 flagship.   The back cover panel is printed October 1953 so thus the date.
This vintage original brochure has an impressive Mid-Century Modern style graphic design and is in very good condition overall with just light handling wear and some modest toning from age.  Email any questions.  Thanks for looking.
