    Description

I will combine shipping on multiple wins. Please allow me time after an auction ends to figure the total amount, or you may contact me to request a total once you are all done.
Army mess kit produced and issued during World War I. Has aluminum body and steel handle. It was used, and a previous owner painted it a bronze color. I removed nearly all of the bronze paint, but you will probably find traces of it remaining. Handle is stamped with a unit number, either a designation or a rack number. Reverse has date of 1920 engraved, along with name of soldier who presumably was issued this kit, along with "26" - so maybe marked by two soldiers? No way to tell, but so many of these are found with names, dates, artwork and so on that it must have been a common practice in those days. See pictures. Stamped at end of handle "U.S. / T.U.S.A. / Co. / 1917."
Overall length 9", width 7", and 1-1/2" tall (all measurements when closed). weighs 12.3 ounces as it sits. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for looking, and good luck!
Note: Payment required within 3 days of auction ends or eBay will begin an Unpaid Item case.
